Royalties on Finay allow artists to earn a percentage from every sale of their work, even after the initial sale. This unique feature gives creators greater control and ongoing revenue from their art as it circulates in the marketplace.
How Royalties Benefit Artists
With royalties, artists can set a percentage (from 0% to 20%) that they’ll receive from every subsequent sale of their work after the initial sale. This flexibility gives artists a way to benefit from the continued demand for their music or content, allowing them to participate in the long-term value of their creations. It’s a way for creators to keep their earnings aligned with their work's popularity, ensuring they’re rewarded even as fans and collectors resell their media.
Setting Up Royalties as an Artist
To set up royalties on Finay, simply follow these steps:
Go to the Create Page
In the Create section, select the media type you’d like to upload (such as Singles, Albums, or Events).
Enter Required Details
Fill out all necessary fields, including title, genre, price, and quantity.
Specify Royalty Percentage
In the Royalties section, enter the percentage (from 0% to 20%) you’d like to receive from each future sale. This amount will automatically be applied to all future resales, ensuring you earn continuously.
Add Sub-Artists (Optional)
For bandmates, producers, or collaborators, you can designate Sub-Artists and specify their earnings. Simply add each Sub-Artist’s email (associated with their Finay account) and enter the percentage they’ll receive from each resale. This ensures all contributors to your work are compensated fairly.
How Royalties Affect Fans
For fans and collectors, the royalty process is entirely automatic. When a fan chooses to resell a piece of media they’ve purchased, the preset royalty percentage is automatically directed to the artist’s and any Sub-Artists’ wallets. This percentage is visible on the item card, so fans can view the artist’s royalty rate before purchasing or reselling.
