Setting up royalties on Finay allows you, as an artist, to earn a percentage from every resale of your media, giving you ongoing revenue and control over your work. Here’s how to set up royalties, including adding Sub-Artists for collaborations:
Steps to Set Up Royalties
Go to the Create Page
Start by navigating to the Create page on the left-hand menu.
Choose Your Media Type
Select the type of media you want to create and sell, such as Singles, Albums, Events, or Lessons.
Fill Out Required Fields
Complete all necessary fields for your media, including the title, genre, price, quantity, and any other essential details.
Specify Your Royalty Percentage
In the Royalties section, enter the percentage you’d like to receive from each subsequent sale. You can set this anywhere between 0% to 20%. This royalty percentage will apply automatically to all future resales, ensuring you continue to earn as your media is bought and sold by fans.
Adding Sub-Artists for Royalties
If you’re collaborating with bandmates, producers, or other contributors, you can add Sub-Artists so they receive a share of royalties from each resale as well:
Locate the Sub-Artist Section
Within the royalties setup, find the option to add Sub-Artists.
Enter Sub-Artist Details
Enter the email address associated with each Sub-Artist’s Finay account and specify the royalty percentage they will receive.
Assign Royalty Percentage
Allocate a percentage for each Sub-Artist from the resale royalties. This ensures that your collaborators are compensated every time the media is resold.
For Fans and Buyers
Once royalties are set up, fans who purchase and later resell the media will automatically pay the royalty percentage to you and any Sub-Artists included. This royalty rate is displayed on each item card so buyers are aware of it before purchasing or reselling.
